The Cramer St. Neighbourhood Project is designed to promote harmony between people of Muslim and Christian religions and between people of a range of cultural and racial backgrounds who live in Melbourne's inner north. It aims to tackle the underlying racism against Muslims and Arabic people, especially demonstrated since September 11. Local Neighbourhood groups will be formed to work together to plan and participate in a range of activities which enhance/educate about certain religious and cultural events. This project is based on the premise that people who (are assisted to) work and plan together to achieve a common aim develop an understanding and degree of friendship with each other. |
