Project Summary:

There have been some tensions between the wide variety of cultural and tribal groups in the Sudanese community. This project, based at the Maughan Uniting Church in Adelaide 's centre, is to bring the diverse Sudanese tribal groups and other Australians together to foster greater communication and increase understanding. The tribal divisions are not well understood by the Australians who are assisting the Sudanese to settle. Through a number of monthly activities, members of the tribal groups and the broader community will explore cultural and social understanding including issues such as relationships, parenting, conflict resolution and Australian law.
