To respond to issues of discrimination affecting African refugees settling in Brisbane , Brisbane City Council will produce an education kit in consultation with new emerging African communities. The project will pilot a number of events (such as morning teas, discussion groups, and community gatherings) bringing together members of the African communities and the broader communities, including Meals-on-Wheels and Neighbourhood Watch, with the aim of establishing ongoing relationships. The kit will be launched on Harmony Day and will be promoted to a range of groups including schools and sports clubs. |
