This project will work with young people to respond to distrust and to promote better understanding between Muslims and Christians in Sydney . Young Christians and Muslims will attend a youth exchange program where they learn about the 'other' religion. They will then join together at a youth camp and will participate in a Convention Day. There will be a public forum on religious dialogue and celebration of Harmony Day involving community leaders. |

An Eastern Catholic church, the Melkite Catholic Eparchy has more than 30,000 parishioners across Australia . Parishioners are mostly of Lebanese background but there are also Egyptians, Syrians, Palestinians and Jordanians. As well as looking after the religious needs of its parishioners the Church works with various religious and social groups within the community to develop a productive relationship promoting understanding and respect of the ‘other'. |
