Project Summary:

This project in northern NSW seeks to reduce racism and prejudice through cultural exchange and cooperation on various levels: between the groups, in the school environment, and in the general community. Through the project, community members from five cultural backgrounds will be recruited and trained to facilitate hands-on workshops in 15 primary schools. Workshops will also be made available to the general public on Harmony Day. Facilitators are likely to come from backgrounds including Indigenous, Sikh, Filipino and Indonesian.


About the Organisation:

Since 1988, the Murwillumbah Community Centre has been providing resources for the local community by identifying and meeting local community needs and services. Successful programs have included financial counselling, information and referral, emergency relief, and creative arts.
