Project Summary:

This project involves working with Toastmasters to provide public speaking and leadership training for 12 volunteer 'Ambassadors' drawn from recently arrived refugees, Indigenous, new migrant and long term migrant populations.  The ambassadors will talk about their experiences to school groups, service providers, TAFEs and service clubs.  A school competition will be organised for students to create their responses to the presentations.  Project outcomes will be recognised and promoted throughout the schools in Armidale and a formal presentation day will recognise the achievements of the ambassadors. The project outcomes will also feed into the development of the local council calendar and will be promoted on local community radio.
