Project Summary:

The Auburn Council proposes soccer as a medium for bringing new settlers and residents together.  The project activities will include:  registration of 130 players in 6 local clubs to play a full soccer season integrated into existing club teams; involvement of the players in all club activities - training, games, canteen duty, and field preparation. There will also be 'come and try' sessions to encourage new participants, workshops on rules and expectations of soccer clubs and junior licence coaching training for 25 people from a range of backgrounds. They will be involved in two cultural awareness seminars, community seminars on harassment free sport and seminars to provide fundraising skills to the clubs to sustain the coverage of player registration fees.
