Project Summary:

This project will focus on promoting positive images of newly arrived young people from Africa and the Middle East to the wider community.  The project will commence with the selection of Multicultural Youth Ambassadors to be announced and awarded at a Harmony Day youth event.  The ambassadors will receive training in public speaking, Australian norms and rights and responsibilities as Australians.  The ambassadors will be involved in interviewing young people about their contributions to the community for inclusion in a booklet which will be distributed to the wider community to promote positive images of multicultural youth.  The Ambassadors will go into the schools to educate their peers about different cultures and their experiences.
