NSW

Organisation: Baulkham Hills Holroyd Parramatta Migrant Resource Centre
Project Name: Culture Connect Creating a Sense of Place and Belonging
Suburb: Paramatta
State: New South Wales
Amount: $48,090
Project Summary: Following on from work in the Living in Harmony Family Court partnership, this project will work with new and emerging communities. It will foster harmony and build social cohesion through an increased understanding of Australian society, governance, customs, the legal system and the Australian way of life. It will foster a sense of place and belonging for new settlers in the area, engaging them in activities and events in the wider community.

The project will support community leaders in development activities, including mentoring, workshops, training and other formal development opportunities. A best practice guide will be created which can be used as a model for other communities.
