| Project Summary: |
This project is looking at ways for residents from new and emerging communities to build positive relationships with the wider community. The project will engage members of these communities in a community consultation process around identifying the issues associated with integration into the mainstream community. It will foster the development of links with established members of local garden groups, and utilise the interest among local residents of learning about gardening in the local region. Participants will share gardening techniques, and learn about Australian values and social customs, and will also be able to share their cultures with each other. The project will support participants in developing the knowledge and skills needed to engage in the community. The culmination of the project will be an open garden day showcasing the cultural gardens to the local community. |
