| Project Summary: | This collaborative arrangement between the Sudanese Community in Warrnambool Incorporated and Warrnambool City Council will employ a Sudanese Youth Worker for 12 months to encourage greater participation of local Sudanese youth into mainstream local organised sporting competitions. Other activities include cross cultural training for recreation providers, and youth leadership and skill development programs for the Sudanese youth. These will encourage a sense of stability, cultural pride and being valued. The project seeks to achieve trust building, provide positive and appropriate diversion strategies, capacity building opportunities, health and well being and greater community understanding. |
