| Project Summary: | The project will establish a community soccer program for young refugees living in the cities of Whittlesea and Maribyrnong. A leadership group of young people will be established, enabling them to participate in the planning and delivery of the project. This group will be provided with mentoring and support to enhance their leadership skills and to undertake leadership activities. Young people involved in the project will also participate in awareness raising activities that will enhance understanding and value of diverse communities. Open dialogue about cultural identity, perceptions and racial discriminatory behaviour will be facilitated and explored. This will be communicated through ethnic community radio broadcasts, posters or development of website information. |
