Senator Lundy – Hi I am Senator Kate Lundy and I am at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra today to talk about Harmony Day, a wonderful annual event were all Australians can celebrate celebrate our nation's diversity and share what we have in common.
The Harmony Day theme for this year is 'Sport: play-engage-inspire'. Sport is a powerful tool that can bring people from all walks of life together to share in a common passion and strive for a common goal. Sport fosters a wonderful sense of belonging, and acceptance and helps build bridges of understanding and respect. This Harmony Day get involved in sport. It's a great way to meet people and team sport teaches all of us that everyone belongs.
Mo'onia Gerrard – Hi I am Mo'onia Gerrard and I play for the Australian national netball team, the Diamonds. This year I'm getting involved in Harmony Day and I hope you do too.
