Event Journeys and Destinations

This event will take place at Swan Hill College. It will involve all Multicultural students in the school organising the event and supervising the activities.
The parents and the general public are invited to join in.
The Clontarf staff are running 6 session on March 20th demonstrating how to cook Aboriginal bush food and sharing this meal.
All the 150 Year 7 cohort will rotate on the day to experience aboriginal culture and mix with all the other Multicultural students in the school.
The aim is to introduce the new Year 7’s into our all inclusive Multicultural School Community to develop acceptance and respect.
The EAL students will are invited to wear their traditional clothes for the day.
The EAL students will be rostered on to help the staff in this activity at Clontaff.
PSB students, (Positive School Behaviour) students, who are leaders in the school, will help with the organising and running the day.
An A3 poster will be designed by several Art classes demonstrating their personal Journeys and Destinations.These will be displayed in the front foyer of the School and the Library. The general public are welcome to view these posters. They will then go to the Community celebration in the park.
The EAL students will work in class to prepare a 3 minute speech to share their own personal Journeys from their countries.This will be videotaped and presented at the Year 7 Assembly in March.
