Tell us a little about how you celebrated Harmony Day
At Inner Child Yoga we celebrated Harmony Day for a whole week. Our kids yoga and mindfulness classes focused the abundance of diversity among our people and fostering a sense of belonging.
Who were your partners?
Over 160 kids attended classes. They were held in childcare centres, preschools and schools in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and at Sona Yoga in Randwick.
What was most memorable about your Harmony Day celebration?
What stood out the most was how blind kids are to the barriers of culture. They see other kids as other kids, that’s it. They may notice that something is different but that differences is a non-issue. We can learn from these younger generations by welcoming the differences between us and celebrating the richness of our diversity.
